Leadership Development Building
Buckley AFB, CO  
The Leadership Building at Buckley is a 16,000 sf multipurpose facility with seating capacity for 500 people. The building is used for instruction, meetings, and conferences. The exterior of the building was designed to blend and complement the existing architecture of the base. The building was constructed to be LEED Silver.

Sewer Utilities Upgrade
Fort Carson, CO

The project included total design and construction including boring beneath existing horizontal construction with significant vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The project needed to be extensively phased to minimize the impact to the base.

Building 368 Renovation
FE Warren AFB, WY

The project included total design and construction of the area for use by the members of the 15 MUNS. The base requirements for design and construction included the renovation of a work area and the creation of a Munitions Control room placed within a historical building. The integrity and character of the historical building was to be maintained throughout the project.

Construct Water Line Under I-90
Ellsworth AFB, SD

The project consisted of boring a 54" steel casing that will carry a new 16" restrained joint PVC pipe. The project included valves, valve boxes, and other appurtenances at various locations. Also included in the project was removal and abandonment of existing water mains. The construction also included connecting to existing water mains, parking lot repair, fence removal and replacement, seeding and surface restoration.

Thermal Energy Storage Test Facility—Steam Module, SolarTAC
Aurora, CO

Design, fabricate, and install a thermal energy storage test system to support the development, testing and evaluation of novel thermal energy storage materials and systems. Thermal energy will be supplied to candidate TES systems via an independent loop: as high-temperature, high-pressure steam. The systems will be able to thermally cycle a TES system under conditions that replicate a CSP power plant.

This project as part of the traffic mitigation measures added an additional right turn lane from Denver West Parkway onto Denver West Marriott Blvd. The result is increased out bound turn capacity from the South Table Mountain Campus traveling eastbound.

Phelps County Justice Center
Phelps County, NE 
Construction of a 31,000 square foot detention facility including commercial kitchen, offices, medical facility, and detaining areas; addition and remodel of the existing 1911 courthouse. The addition is constructed of Insulated Concrete Forms, masonry, and poured in place concrete with the requirement to match existing adjacent historical building’s architectural finishes. 

Bent County Detention Facility
Las Animas, CO

Bent County Detention facility includes a Jail, Sheriff's Department, Sheriff's Garage and Ambulance Garage.  First phase of building is designed for 38 inmates with expansion capacity of up to 68 inmates on a second tier.  The facility includes offices and garages for the Sheriff's department.

Teller County Jail
Divide, CO

Initially a 58-bed jail facility was expanded to 102-bed.  Could be further expanded.  The structure was built utilizing masonry, cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and steel joist and deck.  The facility includes full service kitchen, laundry, offices, indoor/outdoor gymnasium, a library, and computer flooring in the dispatch area.

Gilpin County Justice Center

52,000 s.f. 58-bed detention facility expandable to 112-bed.  Includes full service kitchen, library, laundry, and indoor/outdoor exercise facility.  Justice Center includes courts, social services, District Attorney's offices and sheriff's facilities.

Prowers County Detention Facility/Sheriff Office
Lamar County, CO

New two story masonry facility and the renovation of an existing facility to become the new sheriff's office.  48-bed facility includes full service kitchen, laundry, crime labs, juvenile holding facility, and large indoor/outdoor exercise area.

Routt County Detention Facility
Steamboat Springs, CO

48-bed facility expandable to 52-bed including 3-level sheriff/detention offices.  Also includes full service kitchen, laundry, parking, vehicle sallyport, and extended roads.

Huerfano County Law Enforcement Center
Walsenburg, CO

28-bed facility expandable to 52-bed.  Includes law enforcement center and holding facilities, full service kitchen, laundry, parking, and extended roads.  Structure was built using masonry, structural steel, and pre-cast concrete.

Pitkin County Detention Facility
Aspen, CO

27-bed expandable to 54-bed detention facility.  Received AIA Merit Award in 1984.  Includes sheriff's office, gymnasium, exercise center, and vehicle sallyport.  Masonry, structural steel, and pre-cast concrete.

The Gilpin County Community Center was a 42,000 SF Design/Build project. Newstrom-Davis acted as Design/Build GC/CM overseeing all aspects of the project from design through pre-construction to value engineering and completion. The facility includes an aquatics center, gymnasium, raised running track, senior’s center, youth facility, wetcrafts room, lounges, locker rooms, and offices.

Cherry Creek Elementary Schools #33 & #34
Aurora, CO

Two new elementary schools, 50,000 square foot each.  Construction consists of steel frame and bearing masonry walls on concrete grade beams and caissons.  Site includes all underground utilities, curb, gutter, landscaping, decorative fencing, softball field, include backstops and play surface.

Thunder Ridge High School Addition & Renovation
Highlands Ranch, CO

32,368 square foot addition to an existing building.  The addition primarily incorporates classrooms and more specifically science laboratories, technical laboratories and computer labs.  The construction consists of structural steel, metal joists and deck and masonry.  The site work included grading, extension of utilities and construction of a tennis court, bleachers, a baseball field, dug out and warming track.

Fiske Planetarium
CU, Boulder, CO

When the Fiske planetarium was constructed, it was one of a very few in the country. This facility received national recognition in several science publications.  The planetarium was designed with a geodesic dome which created a striking addition to the University of Colorado campus.  Construction is cast-in-place concrete.  The interior of the planetarium was designed as a teaching facility and to house the 40-foot telescope.

Steamboat Springs, CO

32 units, 6 story condominium project, cast in place concrete on masonry bearing walls.  Amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.  Facility includes a two story underground, cast in place concrete, spiral parking lot.
